About ÉCLATAUR

What is ÉCLATAUR? +

ÉCLATAUR is a luxury handcrafted fragrance house based in Sunnyvale, Texas. Operating under Evenore Solutions LLC since MMXX, we create small batch Eau de Parfum sprays and perfume oil roll-ons. Every bottle is formulated, blended, macerated for 30 days, and hand-inspected before release. The name combines the French éclat (brilliance) and aura (invisible presence).

Who created ÉCLATAUR? +

ÉCLATAUR was founded by a lifelong collector of fine scent who spent decades building a personal library of fragrances from around the world. When that collection was lost during a family relocation to Texas, the founder of ÉCLATAUR chose not to rebuild it – but to create something better. Every ÉCLATAUR formula is developed, blended, and approved by the same hands that created the very first bottles. The brand operates under Evenore Solutions LLC, a family-owned business in Sunnyvale, Texas.

What does the name ÉCLATAUR mean? +

The name ÉCLATAUR is a constructed word drawn from two French roots: éclat, meaning brilliance or radiance, and aura, meaning an invisible presence or atmosphere surrounding a person. Together, they capture what a truly personal fragrance does – it is not loud, it does not announce itself, but it leaves a trail of brilliance in its wake. The name is written with the acute accent on the E.

Who is ÉCLATAUR for? +

ÉCLATAUR is for those who believe fragrance is invisible jewelry – a personal signature more telling than any logo. Our collectors value craftsmanship, longevity, and the quiet authority of a scent that lingers long after you leave the room. Whether worn in boardrooms, candlelit evenings, or solitary walks, ÉCLATAUR is built to be felt, not merely smelled.

Where are ÉCLATAUR fragrances made? +

All ÉCLATAUR fragrances are handcrafted in our Texas studio. Each batch is blended by hand, macerated for a full 30 days in a temperature-controlled environment, and quality-checked before bottling. We do not outsource production – every bottle that leaves our studio has been personally inspected and approved.

What makes ÉCLATAUR different from mass-market perfumes? +

Every ÉCLATAUR fragrance is built on principles most commercial brands cannot afford to honor. We use 200-proof organic food-grade grain alcohol for sprays and organic fractionated coconut oil for roll-ons – never denatured, never the cheaper path. Every formula is built on the proprietary VELUM system: a 15-layer performance accord engineered into every batch for 12+ hour longevity. Each batch is macerated for a full 30 days in a temperature-controlled environment. No automated line touches our bottles – every unit is hand-filled, hand-capped, and hand-inspected. This is not a faster way to make perfume. It is the only way we are willing to make it.

Are ÉCLATAUR fragrances IFRA compliant? +

Yes. All ÉCLATAUR formulations are developed in accordance with International Fragrance Association (IFRA) safety guidelines – the global standard for responsible fragrance composition. Every ingredient is documented, traceable, and verified before entering any formula. Each batch is recorded in a formulation ledger for full traceability from raw material to finished bottle. IFRA compliance is not a marketing badge at ÉCLATAUR – it is the starting point.

Are ÉCLATAUR fragrances exclusive? +

Yes – by design. ÉCLATAUR operates on a controlled distribution model with small batch production, no mass retail presence, and intentionally limited availability. This is not a constraint – it is the architecture of the brand. What you wear is not available on every shelf.

What are ÉCLATAUR Édition Limitée fragrances? +

Édition Limitée is ÉCLATAUR’s line of limited-run fragrances offered in 100ml only, presented as singular releases rather than permanent collection members. Each Édition Limitée composition explores a creative direction that sits outside the core ÉCLATAUR collection – whether that means rarer materials, more complex accords, or seasonal expression. Once an Édition Limitée batch is released and sold, it is not reissued. These are fragrances for collectors who value the quiet exclusivity of owning something that will not return.

Our Fragrances & Formulation

What concentration are ÉCLATAUR perfumes? +

All ÉCLATAUR spray perfumes are formulated as Eau de Parfum (EDP) at 20-25% fragrance concentration. Our roll-on oils are formulated at extrait-level concentration (25-30%), carried in organic fractionated coconut oil for skin-close sillage that evolves beautifully throughout the day.

How long do ÉCLATAUR fragrances last? +

ÉCLATAUR fragrances deliver 12+ hours of longevity thanks to the proprietary VELUM system – a 15-layer performance accord engineered into every formula. Longevity depends on skin type, environment, and application method, but our amber and musk-forward compositions often perform well beyond 12 hours. For best results, apply to moisturized skin at pulse points.

Are ÉCLATAUR fragrances unisex? +

ÉCLATAUR offers Men’s, Women’s, and Unisex collections as a guide – a starting point for those who prefer a familiar frame when exploring scent. But in practice, every ÉCLATAUR fragrance can be worn by anyone drawn to it. A woody oriental from the Men’s collection may wear beautifully on a woman. A white floral from the Women’s collection may find its perfect home on a man. The collections exist to help you discover; your skin decides the rest. The only question that matters in perfumery is whether the scent is yours.

Why does ÉCLATAUR smell different on different people? +

Fragrance is a conversation between the formula and the skin. Body chemistry, skin pH, hydration, body temperature, and even diet all influence how a perfume develops once it is applied. What smells warm and ambery on one person may lean sharper or softer on another – and this is exactly why we always recommend testing a fragrance on your own skin before committing to a full bottle. Our testers exist for precisely this reason.

What is macerating perfume and why does ÉCLATAUR do it? +

Macerating perfume is the aging process where blended fragrance ingredients rest undisturbed so the molecules slowly integrate, soften, and deepen into a unified accord. It is the perfumer’s equivalent of letting wine breathe. At ÉCLATAUR, every batch undergoes this essential process because it produces a depth and smoothness that freshly blended perfumes simply cannot achieve.

What does perfume maceration mean for the quality of my fragrance? +

Perfume maceration means the fragrance has been given time to fully develop before it reaches you. During maceration, sharp edges settle, the heart of the composition emerges, and base notes anchor themselves into the accord. The result is a smoother opening, richer depth, and more cohesive performance on skin. It is the single most important step separating rushed production from genuine craft.

How long to macerate perfume, and how long does ÉCLATAUR macerate each batch? +

How long to macerate perfume depends on the complexity of the composition, but industry best practice calls for a minimum of 21 days. ÉCLATAUR macerates every batch for a full 30 days – no exceptions. Each batch is sealed and aged in a dark, temperature-controlled environment. Days 1-3 allow initial bonding, Day 4 is sediment inspection, and Days 5-30 are uninterrupted dark aging. No batch is released early.

What is the difference between the ÉCLATAUR spray and roll-on? +

Both formats carry the same core fragrance character but perform differently on skin. The EDP spray (200-proof organic grain alcohol base) projects with wider sillage – ideal for presence and social wear. The roll-on (organic fractionated coconut oil base) delivers skin-close warmth and intimate trail – ideal for travel, touch-ups, and layering. Many collectors use both together: roll-on first for depth, spray over for projection.

What is sillage and how far does ÉCLATAUR project? +

Sillage (pronounced see-yazh) is the French perfumery term for the scented trail a fragrance leaves behind as the wearer moves through a room. It is distinct from projection, which describes how far the fragrance radiates from the skin at any given moment. ÉCLATAUR fragrances are engineered through the VELUM system to project confidently – typically within an arm’s length for the first several hours – while leaving a refined sillage that follows you without announcing itself. Strong enough to be noticed, restrained enough to remain personal.

What makes ÉCLATAUR’s VELUM system different? +

VELUM is ÉCLATAUR’s proprietary 15-layer performance accord engineered into every formula. It is a separate base system manufactured before any individual fragrance is blended. VELUM provides the structural foundation for 12+ hour longevity and powerful projection, independent of the fragrance concentration. It is the invisible architecture behind every bottle.

03

Testers & Discovery

Do you offer testers? +

Yes. ÉCLATAUR offers testers for every fragrance in the collection. We believe your first commitment should be to the scent itself, not the bottle size. Testers are the most honest way to discover if a fragrance is truly yours. Visit The Prelude to explore your options.

How do I choose between ÉCLATAUR fragrances? +

Each product page includes a detailed three-act scent journey (top, heart, base notes), occasion guidance, seasonal recommendations, and layering partners. If you are unsure, start with a tester – wear it for a full day and let the dry-down reveal the true character of the fragrance on your skin.

Do you offer discovery sets? +

ÉCLATAUR is developing curated discovery sets that allow you to explore multiple fragrances in a single order. Join the collectors list at eclataur.com to be notified when discovery sets become available.

04

Ordering & Payment

What payment methods does ÉCLATAUR accept? +

ÉCLATAUR accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, and Apple Pay. All transactions are encrypted and processed securely through our payment partners. We do not store payment card details on our servers.

Is my payment information secure? +

Yes. ÉCLATAUR uses industry-standard SSL encryption across the entire checkout process. Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant processors. Your card details never touch our servers directly.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it? +

We begin processing orders quickly to minimize fulfillment time. If you need to modify or cancel, please contact us within 2 hours of placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee changes once an order has entered the packing stage.

Will I receive an order confirmation? +

Yes. A confirmation email is sent immediately upon successful order placement containing your order number, product summary, and estimated shipping timeline. Please check your spam or promotions folder if you do not see it within a few minutes.

05

Shipping & Delivery

Where does ÉCLATAUR ship? +

ÉCLATAUR currently ships within the United States. International shipping to Canada, the United Kingdom, and select markets is part of our growth roadmap. Join the collectors list at eclataur.com to be notified when international shipping becomes available.

How long will my order take to arrive? +

Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 2-4 business days. Standard shipping transit times within the US are an additional 3-7 business days. Expedited options are available at checkout. Perfume sprays require ground shipping due to federal hazmat regulations.

Why is ground shipping required for perfume sprays? +

Alcohol-based perfume sprays are classified as flammable liquids under federal transportation regulations. They must be shipped via ground carriers and cannot be sent by air domestically. ÉCLATAUR complies fully with all applicable shipping regulations to ensure safe and legal delivery.

Are roll-ons subject to the same shipping restrictions? +

Oil-based roll-ons are generally not classified as hazardous materials for domestic ground shipping. However, all carrier rules are verified per shipment. ÉCLATAUR applies appropriate packaging for both formats to ensure safe transit.

How will I track my ÉCLATAUR order? +

A tracking number is emailed to you once your order has been dispatched. You can monitor your shipment directly through the carrier’s website. Tracking may take up to 24 hours to activate after dispatch.

06

Returns & Exchanges

What is ÉCLATAUR’s return policy? +

Due to the personal nature of fragrance and for hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns on opened or used products. We strongly recommend ordering a tester from The Prelude first to confirm your affinity with a scent before committing to a full bottle – this is by design.

What if I received the wrong item? +

If you received an incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the discrepancy. We will arrange a resolution promptly.

How long do refunds take to process? +

Once a refund is approved, it is processed within 5-7 business days. Depending on your payment provider, funds may take an additional 3-5 business days to appear in your account.

07

Product Care & Usage

How should I store my ÉCLATAUR fragrance? +

Store in a cool, dark location away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid bathrooms where humidity and temperature fluctuate. Keep bottles upright with caps secure to prevent evaporation. A bedroom drawer, wardrobe shelf, or dedicated fragrance cabinet is ideal. Properly stored, ÉCLATAUR fragrances maintain peak character for 3-5 years.

How do I apply ÉCLATAUR EDP spray for maximum longevity? +

Apply to pulse points – inner wrists, neck, behind the ears, inner elbows. Spray from 10-15 cm distance and do not rub wrists together as this breaks down the accord. Apply to moisturized or slightly damp skin for better retention. Layer with the matching roll-on for extended sillage. Allow 30-60 minutes for the full dry-down to reveal the heart and base.

How do I use the ÉCLATAUR roll-on for best results? +

Apply directly to pulse points – wrist, neck, behind the knee. Use 2-4 gentle passes without over-applying. Allow 60-90 seconds to absorb before dressing. For the best experience, apply the roll-on first, then spray the matching EDP over it for a layered effect with both depth and projection.

What is fragrance layering? +

Layering is combining fragrance formats to create a signature accord uniquely your own. Start with the ÉCLATAUR roll-on at the base for skin-close warmth, then apply the matching EDP spray over it. This creates depth, extends longevity, and gives the fragrance a more complex, personalized character that evolves throughout the day.

Does fragrance expire? +

Fragrance does not expire in the traditional sense, but it can degrade when exposed to heat, light, or oxygen over time. Properly stored ÉCLATAUR fragrances maintain their intended character for years. If a fragrance changes noticeably in color, scent, or clarity, it may indicate degradation.

Can I wear ÉCLATAUR if I have sensitive skin? +

ÉCLATAUR fragrances are formulated in accordance with IFRA safety guidelines, and every ingredient is documented and traceable. However, sensitivity to fragrance varies from person to person. If you have known sensitivities or skin conditions, we recommend starting with a tester and performing a patch test: apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist or forearm, wait 24 hours, and check for any reaction before applying more broadly. If you experience any discomfort, discontinue use. For specific medical concerns, please consult a dermatologist.

08

Gifting

Is ÉCLATAUR suitable as a gift? +

Absolutely. Fragrance is one of the most intimate and lasting gifts a person can receive. ÉCLATAUR packaging – matte black with gold accents – arrives ready to present without additional wrapping. We recommend testers for someone exploring scent, or a full-size bottle for someone whose taste you already know.

Can I include a gift message with my order? +

Yes. During checkout, add a personalized gift note in the order notes field. We will include it with your order on our branded card.

Can I send an ÉCLATAUR order directly to someone else? +

Yes. Enter the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address at checkout and include a gift message in the order notes. We will dispatch directly to them.

09

Maceration: The Science of Craft

Is perfume maceration actually necessary or is it a myth? +

The debate is real – some perfumers argue maceration is unnecessary and that a freshly blended fragrance is ready to wear immediately. Others insist on weeks or months. At ÉCLATAUR, we have tested both approaches extensively. Freshly blended batches consistently perform with sharper, less cohesive openings compared to the same formula after 30 days of rest. Maceration allows molecular bonds to form between the fragrance oil and carrier base, producing a smoother opening, richer dry-down, and more unified accord. We do not claim it is required for all perfumery – but for the level of depth and cohesion ÉCLATAUR delivers, it is non-negotiable.

Can you speed up perfume maceration by freezing? +

The freezer method is a popular shortcut in the DIY perfume community – typically 3 to 7 days in a freezer followed by a return to room temperature. The theory is that cold accelerates molecular bonding. ÉCLATAUR does not use this method. Our testing found that freezing can cause certain fragrance compounds to temporarily crystallize or separate, and the resulting accord lacks the seamless integration that slow, room-temperature aging produces. We macerate at cool room temperature for 30 days because patience consistently outperforms shortcuts in our quality control evaluations.

What is the difference between maceration and aging in perfumery? +

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a distinction. Maceration refers specifically to the initial resting period after blending – when raw ingredients integrate for the first time. Aging refers to longer-term storage after the initial maceration is complete. ÉCLATAUR’s 30-day process is true maceration: Days 1-3 for bonding, Day 4 for sediment inspection, and Days 5-30 for uninterrupted dark aging. The result is a fragrance that has fully matured before it ever reaches your skin.

Does maceration make perfume last longer on skin? +

Yes – in our experience, macerated fragrances consistently outperform freshly blended ones in longevity and projection tests. During maceration, the fragrance oil bonds more completely with the carrier base, which improves how the scent anchors to skin and how evenly it diffuses over time. Combined with ÉCLATAUR’s 15-layer VELUM performance system, the 30-day maceration is a key reason our fragrances deliver 12+ hours of wear.

How can I tell if a perfume has been properly macerated? +

A well-macerated fragrance reveals itself in the opening. If the first spray feels harsh, alcohol-forward, or one-dimensional, the blend may not have been given adequate resting time. A properly macerated perfume opens smoothly – the top notes arrive without sharpness, the heart emerges within minutes rather than hours, and the overall composition feels cohesive from the first moment. Every ÉCLATAUR batch is evaluated on skin after the full 30-day maceration window before it is approved for release.
